white-booted racket-tail

white-booted racket-tail, 15x20cm, wooden frame) The white-booted racket-tail (Ocreatus underwoodii) has to be the smallest bird I’ve seen so far. It’s a fantastically colorful creature, with metallic sheens shimmering across its minute feathers. This watecolour study is, actually, lifesize, portraying a female.
