Tawny owl

Tawny owl (30x30cm, wooden frame) I have often had the good luck to see these beautiful nighttime predators, the tawny owls (Strix aluco), perched upon chimneys or old trees near, or even within, human settlements. Secretive creatures, they are more often heard than seen, their quintessential owl hoot carrying through the darkness.
